  4. Download the version of the software you wish to use (NB: Choose Version 14 for Mac if your version of OS X does not allow you to run Version 16)
  5. Run the downloaded executable file.
  6. By this time you should have received an email with serial number information (subject line: 'Your Site License Information). It will list a Windows number and a Mac number. If the number in this email does not work, please see Checking Current License Availability below.

You need to reactivate with your existing serial number. Reactivating will extend your current software's license until December 2017.

  1. Launch the ChemDraw application and click Activate on the Help menu, then put in your serial number -- it shows up automatically if you originally activated on the same machine.
  2. Click on Activate over the Internet to complete the activation. If this fails (e.g. because you don't have an active Internet connection), you can activate by phone, fax, or email -- you will then receive an activation code to complete the process.
  3. The software will display a warning message one month before the previous expiration date; you can close that window and click on Activate on the Help menu.
  4. If your current license has already expired, you will be immediately prompted to activate when you launch ChemDraw.

You need to get a new serial number and registration code.

  1. Visit the following link - http://sitesubscription.cambridgesoft.com/sitelicense.cfm?sid=698 - and enter your Columbia email address to verify your eligibility. You do not have to re-download the software, unless you are upgrading from Version 14.
  2. You will be sent a message with the subject line 'Your Site License Information' containing the new serial number and registration code (this may not be immediate). The email includes both Windows and Mac numbers, make sure to use the correct one.
  3. Enter the serial number and registration code in the activation box presented when you launch the software.

You may either upgrade to version 16, or keep using your older version by reactivating with your existing serial number. Reactivating will extend your current software's license until December 2017.

  1. Send an email from your institutional email address to informatics.customer_service@perkinelmer.com with the following information:
    • The exact product name and version you are using
    • Your current serial number (if available - should be in the automated email titled 'Your Site License Information')
    • The institution name for your site subscription (i.e. Columbia University)
  2. You will receive an email with a new registration code (this may not be immediate). Enter it in the activation box presented when you launch the software.

  2. Click on My Account towards the top right of the screen (see screenshot below)
  3. Click on My Downloads on the right sidebar (see screenshot below)

You will be shown a list of valid serial numbers available to you under the current license. If you are trying to reinstall or update the software and these numbers are incorrect -- or if you are trying to use Version 14 -- please contact informatics.customer_service@perkinelmer.com with the following information:

  • The exact product name and version you are using
  • Your current serial number (if available)
  • The institution name for your site subscription (i.e. Columbia University)
